For six years, I worked in the school system as a school social worker. That experience, combined with my photography expertise, equips me to photograph your students in a professional, fun, & meaningful way.

What exactly are personality portraits?
Glad you asked! Personality portraits are photographed with a neutral backdrop (often grey, though white is available), and flattering, natural looking light. Additionally, children are captured in a more relaxed, and candid manner so that your child's personality can truly shine.
The result? A timeless capture of your adorable kiddo that you can proudly hang on your wall.
Is there a charge to the school?
No. There is no upfront charge to school groups, daycares, or their students. In fact, this school portrait experience is a great fundraiser since Annette Heck Photography donates 10% of profits right back to the school/ daycare/ co-op. Parents/Guardians will have the option to order digital and prints from an online proofing gallery of their child’s images. However, there is no pressure to order.
What does the school need to provide?
In exchange for a top-notch picture day experience, schools provide a 1) Room/area where the photos can be taken (for indoor photos, a minimum10'x10' area with minimal distractions), 2) Volunteer on picture day whose role is to bring the students to/from the picture area, and 3) School roster that is used to create QR cards for each student/staff member that directly links their photo gallery with their contact information.
How does this benefit the school?
In addition to offering your students and their families with a high-quality, professional, and timeless photography experience, schools also receive some benefits from working with me. 10% of profits is donated right back to your school. Staff members and class pictures can also be photographed. And I provide the school/daycare with high resolution digital files to use for yearbooks, website, school advertising, and other school use purposes.
Can siblings get photos together?
Yes! I am glad to take photos of siblings together in addition to their individual photo. If the siblings are in different classes, then we would need to arrange the best time for the photo to occur. Often it is easiest to do sibling photos in the morning before school starts so that students are not pulled out of class more than necessary. However, this logistic can be sorted out based on the school’s preference.
What will it be like on Picture Day?
Day of the shoot, I will arrive early (as agreed upon) to set up and then, as previously arranged, each cluster of students will take turns coming through to get their photos taken. I take approximately 1-2 minutes with each child so that they can be themselves as they are photographed. Most child galleries yield an average of 5 images, edited in both color and black-and-white options. Class photos are also an option if arranged in advance.
Do prints or digitals have to be ordered?
Not at all. Parent/guardians have full control on how much or little they want to order as well as which images they want to order! Families love how flexible the ordering process is.
What is the ordering process like?
Parents/guardians will receive access to their child’s photos through an online, secure proofing gallery. From that site, they will be able to select their favorite images and then order prints, digital images, or other photo gift items like magnets and even an ornament for grandma. It’s as simple as clicking which images they like best and which a-la-carte item or package they would like applied. There is an ordering deadline so that the 10% profits donation to your school can be issued at one time.

How pricey are those prints?
Pricing for prints and digital images are competitively priced. Nothing is due upfront. All profits are made from ordering. There are a variety of package and ordering options available to fit a variety of budgetary needs (4x6 on up to 8x10 size prints are in a $4-12 range with most packages ranging from $20-40). How will orders be delivered?
Digital images will be delivered immediately to the email address provided. Print orders will be delivered directly to the recipient's address. No more rumpled prints crammed into backpacks. Direct shipping assures that your print order can arrive at its highest standard. If not, let me know and we'll get it squared away!

How do we get started?
I'm excited about the possibility of working with you! First step? Reach out either through the contact form at the bottom of this page or by emailing me at annetteheckphotography@gmail.com. I would love to hear more about your school, what you're seeking, and your ideal timeline. If we are a good fit, we'll discuss logistics that include: number of students to be photographed, best location on the school’s property to host the photos (i.e. an area of 10'x10' for my backdrop and lighting), best dates/times to offer the school portraits, contact information, help available on the day-of the shoot, etc.
Once those details are squared away, the school will sign a digital contract which officially books your school while assuring that the expectations of the school aligns with what I offer. The school will notify their parents of the upcoming school photo day. I’ve got verbiage for newsletters or announcements that can be copy/pasted and sent to your families. Additionally, I have optional flyers along with a personalized webpage especially made for your school's picture day. The webpage is complete with FAQ's, dates to remember, and a photo ordering tutorial video.
